Marketing/Business Students attend leadership conference

Marketing and Business Technology students attended the DECA Fall Leadership conference at Bentley University on Oct. 24th. Juniors Erin Procurot and Sara Tashjian; Seniors Alyssa Cerullo, Hannah Dalton and Kimberly Frias attended leadership workshops throughout the day and enjoyed networking with other DECA members. "They did a fantastic job representing the Whittier Tech DECA chapter," said Marketing Teacher Ms. Crosby.

Whittier is one of 31 high schools in the Massachusetts chapter of DECA, an acronym for Distributive Education Clubs of America, an international organization where students learn and compete in business management, leadership, marketing, hospitality, and finance skills.

Whittier students that attended are 2nd year DECA members who each participated in three workshops to prepare for a district competition in January. Workshop topics included: worker rights, navigating the college process, dressing for success and interviewing, entrepreneurship, and team decision making.
