Parent Night has a Full Slate of Activities for All

As part of our annual Fall Parent’s Night on Thursday, Nov. 14th, Whittier Tech has a range of activities and presentations that are designed to inform and assist parents/guardians.

Scheduled events include:

  • For Freshmen parents/guardians, at 5pm the Vocational Coordinator’s Office will present information on helping your student select a vocational/technical area. With 23 different areas to choose from, making that selection can be daunting for some - come hear about the different areas and strategies to help your student select an area of focus that will engage their best qualities and abilities.

  • Also at 5pm, and open until 8, our Above the Influence team will be running their popular “Hidden in Plain Sight” program that helps parents/guardians see the signs of substance abuse. The presentation focuses on helping parents/guardians know what to look for - items that are “in plain sight” may not be what they appear, and help you learn what to look for in a mock-up of a teen bedroom.

  • For parents of Special Education students, the Whittier SEPAC will hold a meeting in Room 2107 at 5pm.

  • From 6-8pm, our Fall Parent Night will give parents/guardians a chance to familiarize themselves with the building, your student’s day, and briefly check in with their teachers.

We hope to see you for this night of information and learning!
