Whittier to Dismiss Students Early After Threatening Message Discovered

Superintendent Maureen Lynch reports that Whittier Tech will dismiss students at noon today after a threatening message was found inside one of the school's bathrooms.

This morning, school staff were alerted to a threatening message inside a boys' bathroom. Students will be dismissed early today out of an abundance of caution, though school leaders have no reason to believe there is any imminent danger to students or staff.

The early dismissal will better enable the Haverhill Police Department and Massachusetts State Police to investigate.

Police assets are on the scene and are investigating at this time.
