Important information for ALL students - May MCAS testing dates and transportation details

For the 2018-2019 school year, the MCAS exam for Math is May 21st and 22nd.

For the first time, the Grade 10 MCAS exam will be administered electronically for the Math MCAS.

To provide our grade 10 students every advantage during this first year of electronic testing, Whittier Tech is announcing a change to the schedule for those 2 days:

  • All Grade 10 Students will report at the normal start of school/bus pickup times.

  • All Grade 9, 11, and 12 students will report on a 3-hour delay.

Whittier Tech students in grades 9, 11, and 12 will report to school on a 3-hour delay, to minimize disruptions during this important test for 10th graders. Bus routes will pick up grade 9, 11, and 12 students 3 hours later than their usual pickup time. Homeroom for these grades is from 10:20-10:44am.

Grade 10 students need to make every effort to be at school on time for those dates, as passing the MCAS is a requirement for obtaining a high school diploma. In addition, Grade 10 students need to make every effort to ensure their WT provided iPad is charged to 100% prior to arriving at school to take this important test.

It is important to have excellent attendance for ALL grades during these 2 dates. Morning assignments to be completed at home will be provided to all grade 9, 11, and 12 students on those days to ensure those students do not miss out on important instructional time.
