Skylar Cyr - November Student of the Month

Skylar is the daughter of Ken and Marilia Cyr of Haverhill.

Skylar was recognized by her Dental teacher Caitlin Deveau and Vocational Coordinator Amanda Crosby.  According to Ms. Deveau, "Skylar was instrumental in organizing the Hygiene Drive fundraiser that our shop is hosting. She is always willing to help her teachers and peers with anything they may need. Skylar is the kind of student who seeks out opportunities to help others and takes joy in seeing her efforts benefit the greater good. Through this community service initiative, I have seen a different side of Skylar, and she genuinely enjoys and is excited to give back to her community!"  Ms. Crosby added, "Skylar is a junior in Dental who deserves recognition for her exceptional community service.  She recently organized a community drive for hygiene products. It has turned into a huge community initiative as the Interact Club has partnered with the YMCA, where over 300 bags will be handed out to the community.  Skylar is an exemplar to all Whittier students on what it means to be a Wildcat and show kindness in the community."

In addition to her amazing contributions to this recent fundraiser, Skylar, a junior. is also a member of the Whittier Tech Interact Club (current Vice-President) and participates in community service at her church.  Earlier this month, Skylar was nominated as "Teen of the Year" for embodying the Y’s four core values: caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.

Congratulations, Skylar!
