At the regularly scheduled meeting on March 11, 2026, the Whittier Regional Vocational Technical High School Committee unanimously approved a $2.5 million appropriation to fund a feasibility study related to the future of Whittier Tech. See Official Vote Documentation here.
The feasibility study will evaluate options for the future of the school, including:
Improvements and potential expansion at the current Whittier Tech campus located at 115 Amesbury Line Road in Haverhill, and
An alternative option involving the Northern Essex Community College Haverhill Campus.
The study will be conducted under the direction of the Whittier Regional Vocational High School Building Committee and will help determine the best path forward to support current and future generations of students.
The motion passed unanimously by a vote of 13-0.
The District also acknowledged that participation in the Massachusetts School Building Authority (MSBA) grant program is competitive and discretionary, and that any costs exceeding approved grant funding would remain the responsibility of the District.
