🇺🇸🕊️ In Remembrance of Pvt. 1st Class Evan William O’Neill, Jr.
Today marks the 21st anniversary of the passing of Evan O’Neill, a proud Whittier Tech Class of 2002 alum, who made the ultimate sacrifice on September 29, 2003, in Shkin, Afghanistan. At just 19, Evan gave his life to protect his platoon.
Evan was not only a soldier but also a Patriot, a son, a brother, a friend, and a proud Whittier Wildcat. During his time at Whittier, he was on the United Nations Debating Team, a member of the National Technical Honor Society, and an athlete. The events of 9/11 led him to enlist in the Army, following in the footsteps of his father and grandfather.
Evan’s legacy lives on through the honors he earned, including the Combat Infantryman Badge, Purple Heart, and Bronze Star for Valor. His Whittier family will never forget the great sacrifice he made so that we can live in freedom.

This program aims to accelerate progress toward English proficiency and industry-recognized credentials in areas like advanced manufacturing and welding. 🛠️
Thanks to partners like East Coast Welding and Fabrication, AERO Manufacturing Co., and Momentum Manufacturing Group, students can earn valuable certifications, including Hot Work Certification! 🙌
