That’s a wrap on our middle school tours at Whittier Tech.

Over the past few weeks, our student and staff tour guides welcomed visiting 8th grade students, sharing their experiences, expertise, and pride in our programs. Their leadership and enthusiasm helped bring Whittier Tech to life for future Wildcats.

A sincere thank you as well to our School Counseling team, with special recognition to Director of School Counseling and Admissions, Mrs. Karatkewicz, for organizing and leading these tours each year.

🌲 What’s one small change you’d make to help the planet?

The Environmental Club recently transformed the library with a holiday tree dedicated to “nature resolutions.” Students and staff are invited to write down one environmentally friendly action they are willing to try in 2026. Each resolution will be displayed on the tree like an ornament, creating a visual reminder of our shared commitment to sustainability.

The display also features a comparison of the environmental impact of real versus artificial trees, along with guidance on how to dispose of real trees responsibly after the holidays.
Stop by the library, add your resolution, and swipe through to see how thoughtful choices can make a difference.

Whittier Tech Interact Club students recently volunteered at the Haverhill Police Department’s annual Heroes and Helpers holiday event.

After children from across the city shopped for gifts alongside members of the Haverhill Police Department, Haverhill Fire Department, and Pridestar Ambulance, Interact Club students stepped in to help wrap presents and keep the holiday celebration going. Adding to the festivities, Whittier Tech’s Culinary Department contributed delicious holiday treats for families and volunteers to enjoy. The event reflected the power of community partnership and the impact of service during the holiday season.

A visit to the Whittier Tech salon recently became a meaningful family moment for the Chronis family, relatives of Rebecca Chronis from the Whittier Tech Mathematics Department. Penny Chronis and her father, John, donated their hair to Locks of Love, which uses donated hair to create hairpieces for children experiencing hair loss.

Meanwhile, Thea and Will enjoyed fresh trims and colorful foils, adding a little fun to the day. The experience highlighted both generosity and creativity in action.

Salon services were provided by student stylists Sanaa Guzman, Emma Marion, Natalie Gagne, and Jaiden White.

✨ Alumni Connection: Cassie Connor ’08, Graphic Communications ✨

From the studios of Whittier Tech to the mountains of Colorado, Cassie Connor has built a remarkable creative career as the owner of Cassie Connor Photography. Her passion for design and storytelling began in Whittier’s Graphic Communications program and carried her through the New England School of Photography and beyond.

Reflecting on her journey, Cassie shares how Whittier helped spark the path she’s still following today:

“Taking the Graphic Design program at Whittier confirmed my love for photography which I pursued further at the New England School of Photography in Boston. That took me to a job in Keystone, Colorado, with one bag of luggage and a camera in hand. Here I am years later living my dream career as a photographer in the mountains of CO.”
