Whittier Tech is thrilled to once again offer FREE Career Training Programs for Summer 2026!

These hands-on training opportunities are open to Massachusetts residents, ages 18+, who are unemployed or underemployed and interested in launching a full-time career in a technical trade.

🗓️ Program Dates: June 22 – August 6, 2026
⏱️ Total Hours: 200 hours of hands-on training
🔧 Program Options: Advanced Manufacturing, Auto Body, Carpentry, Electrical, Construction, Culinary Arts, Plumbing, Marine Technology, and Welding

📊 Exploring Entrepreneurship at Whittier Tech!

Under the guidance of Business and Marketing instructor Mrs. Sarno, juniors and seniors explored the Small Business Administration (SBA) website to learn about the many resources available to support small business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs.

Students showcased their findings through engaging presentations:
💻 Learning Platforms — Isabella Therrien and Ziling Li
📍 Local Assistance — Sofia Jones and Kera Hylton
💰 Funding Programs — John Tarr and Jesus Mercedes Diaz
📘 Business Guide — Anderson Penalo and Leslie Gonell

Anderson shared, “The SBA website has helped me as a 17-year-old aspiring entrepreneur by providing clear, beginner-friendly resources on how to start and grow a small business. It gave me business plan templates and advice, which made the process feel less overwhelming.”

Leslie added, “The SBA Business Guide section helped me learn the important steps to start, fund, and grow a small business, as well as understand legal requirements and available resources.”

This feature was written by Sofia Jones, a dedicated student who plans to pursue a career in marketing.

Meet Eli Roy, a 2014 Plumbing graduate from Haverhill. Today, Eli is both a Plumbing Instructor at Whittier Tech and the owner of Breathe CrossFit.

On Thursday, October 23, Whittier Tech juniors and seniors will attend our annual College Fair. This event gives students the chance to meet with representatives from more than 50 two- and four-year colleges, trade and technical schools, and branches of the armed forces.

Students will gather information, make connections, and take meaningful steps toward planning their paths after graduation.

Our CAD/Drafting program gives students hands-on experience in design and engineering through the use of industry-standard software such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks. Students progress from foundational drafting techniques to advanced 3D modeling and prototyping, developing both technical precision and creative problem-solving skills.

With opportunities to earn ADDA certification and college credit through the NECC/Whittier Tech Advanced Manufacturing Concurrent Enrollment program, graduates leave ready to pursue careers or further studies in engineering, architecture, or design technology.
