Whittier Tech Dental Assisting instructors Ms. Deveau and Ms. Costa spent their Saturday giving back in a remarkable way.
Both instructors volunteered at Massachusetts’ first Mission of Mercy event, a large volunteer-run clinic hosted by the Massachusetts Dental Society that provides free dental care to community members who may not otherwise have access. From fillings and extractions to root canals and oral health education, hundreds of patients received care grounded in compassion and teamwork.
Ms. Deveau and Ms. Costa shared that it was inspiring to work alongside dental professionals and students from across the state to support healthier smiles for all.
Moments like these reflect the Whittier Way… serving the community with skill, heart, and purpose.

Curiosity, collaboration, and clinical skills in action!
This week, Dental Assisting and Medical Assisting students teamed up to study the bones of the skull and face, working together in mixed groups to label diagrams, watch an anatomy video, and identify structures on 3D models.
The experience helped students connect anatomy to real-world practice, from radiograph positioning to identifying anatomical landmarks.
When students learn together, everyone grows.

On October 29th, our CAD Drafting and Machine Tech students had an inspiring visit to the Merrimack Library, where they met Robert, a talented artist keeping his father’s legacy alive. His father was a master metalworker, creating everything from antique cars to miniature houses—turning imperfect metal into incredible works of art. Today, Robert honors his father’s creativity through watercolor paintings, blending his father’s metal masterpieces with family portraits and playful haikus. Over the past 12 years, more than 25,000 people have experienced their story firsthand. Truly a lesson in creativity, craftsmanship, and keeping memories alive! ✨
