🔧 Alumni Connection: Maria Zammitti ’20 – Plumbing & Heating

Breaking barriers and building her future, Maria Zammitti found her path in Whittier Tech’s Plumbing & Heating program—a trade she hadn’t originally envisioned for herself. Today, as a Journeyman Plumber with Local 12 (JC Higgins), Maria continues to prove that confidence, skill, and perseverance open doors to incredible opportunities.

“Whittier has helped me get to where I am today by giving me the chance to get out of my comfort zone and try a trade I wouldn’t normally picture myself in.”

Her story reflects the strength of Whittier’s hands-on learning and the courage it takes to step into something new.

✨ Family moments at the WT Hair Salon ✨

It was a true Whittier family affair this week as Marine Tech instructor Mike Murray’s son, Michael Jr., stopped by for a fresh cut from senior cosmetology student Ava Bohlen. Meanwhile, Raelynn Murray, daughter of Art instructor Paul Murray, took her turn exploring a possible future trade in cosmetology.

Teens + community = impact! 💛❤️ Today at the Teen Community Service Fair, students connected with 15 amazing organizations, learning how to make a difference in our communities. 💛❤️ Caring in Action: The Wildcat Hygiene Drive 🦷

Our SkillsUSA Dental Assisting students teamed up with the Interact Club to give back in a big way! Together, they collected everyday essentials — deodorant, shampoo and conditioner, lotion, toothbrushes, and toothpaste — to support members of our community in need.

Thanks to the generosity of our Wildcats, students assembled over 300 hygiene bags filled with comfort and care to be distributed later this week.
