What an unforgettable behind-the-scenes experience for our HVACR students at TD Garden. Students explored the systems that keep the arena cool, comfortable, and the ice frozen solid, from the ice surface and mechanical rooms to catwalks and rooftops. This one-of-a-kind opportunity brought the HVACR industry to life and showcased real-world applications of their skills.

✨ Alumni Connection: Catherina Raia ’20, Medical Assisting ✨
From Whittier Tech’s Medical Assisting program to her work as a licensed massage therapist, Catherina Raia has turned her passion for helping others into a meaningful and healing-focused career. She currently practices at Namaste Spa in Danvers, specializing in prenatal and postnatal massage, as well as deep tissue therapy.
Reflecting on her journey, Catherina shares how Whittier helped shape her path and strengthen her belief in her calling:

These hands-on training opportunities are open to Massachusetts residents, ages 18+, who are unemployed or underemployed and interested in launching a full-time career in a technical trade.

🌲 What’s one small change you’d make to help the planet?
The Environmental Club recently transformed the library with a holiday tree dedicated to “nature resolutions.” Students and staff are invited to write down one environmentally friendly action they are willing to try in 2026. Each resolution will be displayed on the tree like an ornament, creating a visual reminder of our shared commitment to sustainability.
The display also features a comparison of the environmental impact of real versus artificial trees, along with guidance on how to dispose of real trees responsibly after the holidays.
Stop by the library, add your resolution, and swipe through to see how thoughtful choices can make a difference.
