A little care goes a long way. 💗
Mrs. Picanso’s Junior Cosmetology students continue their meaningful visits to AdviniaCare, offering residents relaxing manicures once each term. To make the visit even more special, residents also received Valentine’s cards created by Mrs. Picanso’s Peer to Peer Club. Moments like these reflect the power of connection, care, and community.

Students and staff gathered to thank Steve for the care, consistency, and kindness he brought to our school community each day. To mark the occasion, our Culinary students created a special spread of desserts, including a guitar cupcake cake inspired by one of Steve’s favorite guitars.
Congratulations, Steve, and thank you for the lasting impact you have made on Whittier Tech. Wishing you all the best in your next chapter.

Wildcat Wednesday continues with a spotlight on Mr. Wade, HVACR Instructor and SkillsUSA Advisor at Whittier Tech.
Now in his fifth year at Whittier Tech, Mr. Wade values the atmosphere that makes the school both a fun and productive place to work. He credits the students and staff for creating a community where learning and growth thrive.
Outside the classroom and shop, Mr. Wade enjoys cooking barbecue and riding his motorcycle.
His advice for students is simple and motivating. "Do not be afraid to try something new. We do not know what we can do until we try."
We appreciate Mr. Wade’s commitment to hands-on learning, leadership, and student success at Whittier Tech.

🦷 Learning looks even better with a smile.
Junior Dental Assisting students at Whittier Tech, led by Ms. Deveau, recently visited the Preschool and Pre K classroom at Merrimack Child Care Center to share the importance of oral health.
Through age appropriate activities, conversations, and demonstrations, students taught young learners about brushing, healthy habits, and caring for their teeth every day. The visit also gave our Dental Assisting students meaningful practice in patient education while making learning fun and engaging.
Big lessons. Big smiles. Real world experience in action.

Sometimes the best inspiration comes from someone who has been in your seat.
Three Whittier Tech juniors visited Nock Middle School as part of the Newburyport Clipper Talks Series, speaking directly with sixth-grade students about what comes next. Max Cattan (Electronics), Nicole Daigle (CAD), and Kaylee Keegan (Medical) shared their middle school experiences, why they chose Whittier Tech, and how that decision has shaped their confidence, skills, and future goals.
Real stories. Real pathways. Real impact.

Wildcat Wednesday continues this week with a spotlight on Ms. Desberg, an English teacher at Whittier Tech who works with juniors and seniors.
Ms. Desberg is in her fourth year at Whittier Tech and brings 24 years of experience in education to her classroom. What she values most is that learning here is not just preparation for life. It is life. Hearing students talk about the skills they gain through shop and co-op work inspires her and reflects the independence and identity they are building as they prepare for their futures.
A fun fact worth celebrating. Ms. Desberg is getting married this year. 💍
Her advice for students is both reflective and empowering. "Romanticize your life on the inside. See yourself and your experiences as meaningful and worthy, even when things are not easy or perfect."
We are grateful for the perspective, care, and passion Ms. Desberg brings to Whittier Tech each day.
