Wildcat Wednesday is back, and we are kicking things off by introducing Jenny Greene, Whittier Tech’s Transportation Coordinator.
Jenny has been part of the Whittier Tech community since 2021 and stepped into her current role in 2024. If you ask her what she loves most about Whittier, she will not hesitate. The Poet’s Inn. Breakfast or lunch is highly recommended and yes, she is serious about the cookie.
A fun fact you will not forget. Jenny treated herself to a Grinch advent calendar filled entirely with socks and has zero regrets.
Her advice for students is simple and powerful. Do what makes you feel good and what makes you happy. Life is too long and too short to be miserable.
And one more thing to remember. Her birthday is April 4. She is counting on that email. 😃
We are so glad to spotlight Jenny and the important role she plays in keeping Whittier Tech moving every day.

✨ Alumni Connection: Adolfo Gonzalez Mateo, Electronic Robotics, Class of 2023 ✨
Honors student, entrepreneur, and emerging leader in pre-health, Adolfo Gonzalez Mateo carried the problem-solving mindset he developed at Whittier Tech into his studies at the University of Massachusetts Lowell, where he pursued Applied Biomedical Science while exploring marketing and entrepreneurship. Outside the classroom, he founded New England Regional Painters, a painting company serving communities across Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Maine, and he published Built in Silence, a memoir that examined pressure, identity, and perseverance.
Adolfo reflects on the lesson that continues to guide him: “Whittier taught me how to get comfortable not having the answer right away. You learn how to try things, mess up, adjust, and keep going until it works. That’s something I still use every day, no matter what I’m working on.” He is also developing an AI-based software tool designed to help immigrants understand and navigate complex documents, turning his experiences into technology that can serve others with similar dreams.
The journey illustrates how Whittier Tech graduates are working on their future through curiosity, resilience, and purpose driven innovation that strengthens both local communities and multistate opportunity.

Whittier Tech carpentry students turned classroom skills into community impact by rebuilding the front steps for the Georgetown Municipal Light Department.
Mary Snow, General Manager of Georgetown Municipal Light, joined students and instructor Mike Sandlin to see the craftsmanship take shape and celebrate a project planned and completed by Whittier Tech 11th-grade carpenters. This outreach experience gave students hands-on practice in construction, teamwork, and problem-solving while providing Georgetown with a safe, welcoming entrance used every day.
We are Whittier Tech, where leadership meets service, and where the motto "Working on Your Future" becomes real.

✨ Featured Wildcats in a Boston Globe Photo of the Year ✨
The Whittier Tech Wildcats were highlighted in an article by The Boston Globe, “The 31 Best Photos of 2025,” showcasing a powerful moment captured by Globe photographer Ben Pennnington. ✨ Alumni Connection: Rob Simard, Carpentry, Class of 2010
From job sites across the Merrimack Valley to his hometown of Haverhill, Massachusetts, Rob Simard successfully transitioned into the role of Gas & Oil Associate with Simard Gas & Oil after completing the Carpentry program at Whittier Tech. His path brought technical knowledge into a thriving family business and helped him establish financial independence early in adulthood.
Rob reflects on how Whittier shaped his future:
“My education from Whittier allowed me to successfully transition into working for my family’s successful gas and oil business. As a result of my dedication, I was able to purchase my first home at a young age.”
The experience illustrates how career and technical education can open doors close to home and support meaningful life milestones such as home ownership and community roots.

Our CAD Drafting students were busy this past December bringing creativity and compassion beyond the classroom. Senior Melanie Gomez used the Epilog laser to design the tree topper for the Whittier Tech tree featured at the Seabrook Festival of Trees. Seniors Emanuelle Portes and Jayda Jatoba introduced the Forever Home Keepsake Initiative, creating laser cut wooden ornaments to celebrate pet adoptions and honor dedicated shelter volunteers while applying real world skills in vector design, modeling, and fabrication. Students also attended Precast Day with Shea Concrete, experiencing firsthand the equipment and engineering excellence behind precast manufacturing, another example of how Whittier Tech students put learning into action to strengthen community connections.
