For more than 20 years, AΣT Labs has brought CAD educators from across Massachusetts together for an annual professional learning event focused on industry trends, SkillsUSA, and advancing vocational education. Each year, the organization recognizes one outstanding educator through its Teacher of the Year award.
Scott was selected for his professionalism, dedication to students, and long-standing impact in the classroom. As both an educator and Whittier Tech alumnus, he continues to represent the school and the CAD program with excellence.

The countdown is almost complete. 🎓
On Thursday evening, Whittier Tech will proudly celebrate the Class of 2026 as graduates from across our 11 member communities cross the stage and begin their next chapters.
This year’s ceremony will recognize students for their achievements in academics, career and technical education, leadership, and service as they prepare for careers, college, military service, and beyond.
Amesbury Mayor Kassandra Gove will serve as the commencement speaker. The Class of 2026 Valedictorian is Jayda Jatoba of Newburyport, representing CAD/Drafting, and the Salutatorian is Niuris Ramirez Laguard of Haverhill, representing Engineering.

Meet Karen O’Reilly, Confidential Administrative Assistant to the Principal/Assistant Superintendent and Associate Principal.
Karen has been part of the Whittier Tech community for seven years. She began as an Attendance Monitor and, for the past three years, has supported Mr. Laganas, Ms. Jensen, and the administrative functions of the main office. In her role, Karen assists with a wide range of responsibilities, including senior yearbook and graduation activities, the school magazine, transportation, attendance, substitute coordination, and daily operations, all while keeping students at the center of her work.
What stands out most to Karen is the pride the staff brings to their work each day. That shared commitment and strong work ethic serve as a powerful example for students as they build the skills needed for future careers.
Her advice to students, especially seniors, is simple and meaningful: keep your eye on the prize. Take full advantage of the opportunities at Whittier Tech and make the most of every moment.

Seniors from Amesbury Innovation High School, Haverhill High School, Ipswich High School, Pentucket Regional High School, and Triton Regional High School recently completed the fifth annual CVTE Senior Exploratory Program at Whittier Tech.
Throughout the program, students explored a different vocational area each week, gaining hands on experience and exposure to potential career pathways after graduation. Areas explored included Advanced Manufacturing/CNC Operator, Auto Body, Culinary, Carpentry, Marine Technology, Masonry, Metal Fabrication/Welding, and Plumbing.
The program concluded on May 22 with a celebratory breakfast and certificate presentation at Poet’s Inn. We look forward to seeing these students continue their career training this summer through CTI programs.

Latisha Costa’s journey at Whittier Tech has come full circle.
A member of the Class of 2019 and graduate of the Fashion Design program, Latisha’s path continued long after graduation. After returning to complete the CNA program and discovering a passion for dentistry, she now serves as a Dental Instructor at Whittier Tech, helping guide and inspire the next generation of students.
Reflecting on her experience, Latisha shared:
“Whittier gave me more than technical training; it gave me the confidence and soft skills to succeed in every stage of my career. I first walked through these halls as a student in the fashion shop, later returned for the CNA program, and eventually found my passion in dentistry.
